Admissions Policies

One of the main tasks of the Admissions Committee is to preview the family, since our work is with both the student and the parents. This is done by considering the application form, interviewing the parents and securing recommendations and transcripts. The School Board also reserves the right to test the student for admission to the school and/or for grade placement in the school. The family must show an active interest in the spiritual program of the school and must be people with whom the Board feels the teachers can cooperate. Serious effort is made to screen out students with habitual discipline problems and those in need of a special educational program that we are not able to provide. The Board seeks input from the principals and teachers regarding students who present unusual problems.

NON-DISCRIMINATORY POLICY: The Faith Academy of Findlay, Inc. recruits and admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic and other school-administered programs.

Pupil admissions procedures and practices shall adhere to the guidelines adopted by the School Board of Faith Academy of Findlay, Inc. as listed below:

    A. General

Our primary goal as a Christian school is to serve the Christian community, and first priority will be given to applicants from homes of an evangelical persuasion.

    B. Age

A child must have reached the age of five for Kindergarten and six for 1st grade by August 1st in order to be accepted for enrollment.

    C. Academics

    1. Entrance tests may be required of applicants.

    2. The grade placement for students is determined by the school through previous grade attainment and other factors, such as standardized testing results.

    D. Health

All students must submit a School Health Examination Record that includes a dentist's statement, physician's statement and immunization record within one month of admission to FAF. This form can be obtained from the School Nurse if it is not already a part of your child's permanent school record.

    • Faith Academy of Findlay conforms to the immunization requirements found in Ohio State Revised Code 3313.671 for all school children and requires adherence to the stipulations therein as a condition for admittance.

    E. Acceptance

    1. Acceptance is normally granted according to the date the application and fees are received in the school office.

    2. A registration fee must be paid before application will be processed.

    3. All students are admitted on a “probation” status on a quarter by quarter basis.

    4. The applicant will be notified in writing of acceptance into the school for the following year.

    5. Acceptance in any grade does not mean automatic acceptance into the school for the following year.

    6. A prime factor in the admission of each child is the relationship his family has with our Lord.

    7. The fact that our school teaches the Scriptures in accordance with the evangelical position shall be made clear to parents before children are admitted to FAF.

    SPECIAL FAMILY CIRCUMSTANCES

Positional Statement of Faith Academy of Findlay regarding enrollment of children from families with special circumstances: We believe the Word of God is very clear on the sanctity of marriage (Hebrews 13:4, Malachi 2:16 ) and the Christian family (Ephesians 6:1-4, I Corinthians 7:14 , Malachi 2:15 ). Further, we believe that to have God's blessing, we must walk according to His Word and His principles that are prescribed therein (Deuteronomy 28:1-2, I John 5:1-3). Because of this it will be necessary to consider divided (single, separated, unequally yoked, and/or divorced) families on a case-by-case basis, using Scriptural principles and taking into account individual family circumstances.

Families that have a legal guardian, full or joint custody must provide legal documentation with application.
